Overview
This website is operated by Arthur Brown trading as VELORA Beauty.
Throughout these Terms of Service, “VELORA Beauty,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Arthur Brown and the VELORA Beauty online store.
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform used to display and sell our products.
These Terms govern your access to our website and your purchase or use of products and services offered through it. Please read them before placing an order.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the website or place an order.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract to place an order.
If you are under the age of legal majority in your country, you may use the website only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
You must provide current, complete and accurate information when placing an order or creating an account.
Products and services
We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately.
Colours and appearance may vary slightly because of:
-
Screen and device settings;
-
Lighting used in photography;
-
Manufacturing variations;
-
Differences between product batches.
Images used in banners or editorial sections may present products in a styled setting. Product-page photographs, specifications and selected variants should be reviewed before purchase.
Product packaging, accessories and minor design details may change where this does not materially reduce the product’s quality, functionality or value. We will not substitute a materially different product without informing you and obtaining any consent required by law.
Products and services may be available exclusively online and may have limited quantities.
Beauty and personal-care information
Information on our website is provided for general product and self-care purposes. It is not medical advice and should not be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition.
Unless expressly stated and supported by the applicable product documentation, our beauty tools are not medical devices.
Results and experiences vary between individuals. We do not guarantee hair growth, treatment of hair loss or any specific medical, cosmetic or therapeutic result.
Before using a product:
-
Read and follow the supplied instructions;
-
Check that the product is suitable for you;
-
Use only as directed;
-
Avoid use on broken, inflamed or irritated skin;
-
Stop using the product if irritation, pain or an unexpected reaction occurs.
If you have a medical condition, scalp condition, light sensitivity, implanted medical device or take photosensitising medication, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before using a relevant electrical or light-based beauty device.
Prices
Prices are displayed in the currency selected or shown on the website.
Before you confirm an order, the checkout will display the product price and any shipping charges collected by us. Taxes may be included in the displayed price or calculated at checkout, depending on the delivery destination and applicable law.
We may change prices for future orders at any time. A price change will not affect an order that we have already accepted.
If a product is listed with an obvious pricing error, we will contact you before accepting or fulfilling the affected order. You may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
International taxes and customs charges
We sell and deliver products worldwide.
International orders may be subject to:
-
Import duties;
-
Customs charges;
-
Local taxes;
-
Brokerage or handling fees.
Unless the checkout expressly states that these charges are included, the customer is responsible for charges imposed by the destination country or delivery provider.
Customs procedures may delay delivery. Such delays may be outside our reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that a product may lawfully be imported and used in their destination country.
Orders
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase the selected products.
After placing an order, you should receive an order confirmation. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
A contract is formed when we accept the order by sending a dispatch confirmation or otherwise confirming that the order has been accepted for fulfilment.
We may reasonably decline or cancel an order before acceptance where:
-
The product is unavailable;
-
Payment is not authorised;
-
Information required to fulfil the order is incomplete or inaccurate;
-
We reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unlawful activity;
-
The order exceeds a reasonable purchasing limit;
-
There is an obvious price or product-information error;
-
We cannot deliver to the requested destination.
If we cancel an order after taking payment, we will refund the applicable amount to the original payment method.
Payment
You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information.
Payments are processed through Shopify Payments or another payment provider made available at checkout. Payment providers may carry out fraud-prevention, identity, authorisation and regulatory checks.
We do not ordinarily receive or store complete payment card numbers or card security codes.
Your payment provider may apply currency-conversion fees or other charges under its own terms. These charges are not controlled by VELORA Beauty.
Delivery
Available delivery methods, estimated times and charges are shown at checkout.
Delivery estimates are not guaranteed dates unless we expressly confirm otherwise. We will deliver within the period agreed with you or within the period required by applicable law.
Delivery may be affected by customs inspections, carrier disruption, severe weather, public holidays, incorrect address information or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If we become aware of a significant delay, we will provide available information and any options required by law.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Contact us immediately if you notice an error. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order enters processing.
Delivery completion and risk
Risk of loss or damage normally passes to a consumer when the goods are delivered into the physical possession of the consumer or a person identified by the consumer to receive them.
If you independently instruct a carrier that was not offered by us, different legal rules may apply.
Ownership of products passes after we have received full payment and the products have been delivered, subject to applicable law.
Missing or damaged deliveries
Inspect the parcel after delivery.
If an order is missing, visibly damaged or contains an incorrect item, contact support@velorabeauty.com as soon as reasonably possible. Include your order number and supporting photographs or video where appropriate.
A request for photographs, video or delivery information is intended to help us investigate the issue. It does not remove or restrict your statutory rights.
Returns, cancellations and refunds
Returns, order cancellations, exchanges and refunds are governed by our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
UK consumers normally have a statutory right to cancel an eligible online order within 14 days after delivery. Additional rights apply where products are faulty, damaged, unsafe or not as described.
Certain sealed personal-care or hygiene-sensitive products may not qualify for a change-of-mind return after the seal has been broken.
Nothing in our Return and Refund Policy or these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Product availability
All orders are subject to availability.
Adding a product to a basket does not reserve it. A product may become unavailable before checkout is completed or before an order is accepted.
Where part of an order is unavailable, we will contact you and provide an appropriate option, which may include:
-
Cancelling the unavailable item;
-
Cancelling the entire order;
-
Waiting for restock;
-
Accepting a suitable alternative with your agreement.
We will not provide a materially different substitute without your agreement.
Discount codes and promotions
Promotions and discount codes are subject to any conditions displayed with the offer.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
A discount code cannot be exchanged for cash;
-
Only one code may be used per order;
-
Codes cannot be applied to completed orders;
-
Codes may have an expiry date;
-
Certain products may be excluded.
We may end or amend a promotion before an order is placed. Changes will not affect an order already accepted under the promotion.
We may cancel a discount or order where a promotion was used fraudulently or contrary to its clearly disclosed conditions.
Gift cards
Gift cards, if offered, are subject to the conditions displayed at purchase.
Gift cards are not normally refundable or exchangeable for cash except where required by law. Customers are responsible for protecting gift-card codes against unauthorised use.
Customer accounts
You may be able to create an account for faster checkout or access to order information.
You are responsible for:
-
Keeping login credentials confidential;
-
Providing accurate account information;
-
Notifying us of suspected unauthorised access;
-
Ensuring activity performed through your account is authorised.
We may temporarily restrict an account where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security threats or misuse.
Reviews and submitted content
If you submit a review, photograph, comment or other content, you confirm that:
-
It reflects your genuine experience;
-
It is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
-
You have the right to submit it;
-
It does not infringe another person’s rights;
-
It is not unlawful, abusive, misleading or fraudulent;
-
You have disclosed any incentive or commercial relationship connected with the content.
You retain ownership of your content.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and format submitted content for operating and promoting VELORA Beauty. This licence ends if the content is deleted, except where copies must reasonably be retained for legal, security or record-keeping purposes.
We may moderate or remove content where we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or applicable law. We will not suppress genuine negative reviews merely because they are unfavourable.
Intellectual property
The website and its content, including branding, design, text, graphics, photographs, video, icons and software, are owned by or licensed to VELORA Beauty and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may access and use the website for personal, non-commercial shopping purposes.
Without prior written permission, you must not:
-
Copy or republish substantial website content;
-
Use our branding in a misleading manner;
-
Sell, license or commercially exploit website materials;
-
Remove copyright or ownership notices;
-
Scrape or extract data in a way that disrupts the website;
-
Reverse engineer website functionality except where the law expressly permits it.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.
Acceptable use
You must not use the website:
-
For unlawful, fraudulent or abusive activity;
-
To infringe another person’s rights;
-
To transmit malware or harmful code;
-
To interfere with website security or operation;
-
To impersonate another person;
-
To collect personal information without authority;
-
To make fraudulent purchases or payment disputes;
-
To submit false reviews or misleading content;
-
To attempt unauthorised access to accounts or systems.
We may take proportionate action to protect the website, customers and our legal rights where misuse is reasonably suspected.
Third-party services and links
Our website may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including payment providers, social networks and delivery tracking services.
Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for an independent third party’s website, content or practices where the relevant matter is outside our control.
This does not exclude responsibility where we remain legally responsible for a supplier, subcontractor or service used to perform our contract with you.
Website availability
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted access.
We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, technical problems or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We will take reasonable steps to correct material website errors after becoming aware of them.
Consumer guarantees
Products supplied to consumers must meet all mandatory standards under applicable law.
For UK consumers, this includes rights relating to goods being:
-
Of satisfactory quality;
-
Fit for their intended purpose;
-
As described;
-
Supplied with the right to sell them.
Any commercial warranty or guarantee is additional to, and does not replace, statutory consumer rights.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for:
-
Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
-
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
-
Breach of mandatory consumer rights;
-
Faulty or misdescribed goods where liability cannot be excluded;
-
Any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
We are not responsible for a loss caused by:
-
Misuse of a product contrary to its instructions;
-
Unauthorised modification or repair;
-
Normal wear and tear;
-
Information supplied inaccurately by the customer;
-
Events outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
We supply products to consumers for private use. If you use a product for commercial or business purposes, we are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, lost revenue or loss of business opportunity, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as:
-
Natural disasters or extreme weather;
-
War, terrorism or civil disturbance;
-
Epidemics or government restrictions;
-
Customs action;
-
Carrier or postal disruption;
-
Internet or infrastructure failure;
-
Labour disputes affecting third parties.
This section does not remove any right you may have to cancel an order or receive a refund where delivery does not occur within the agreed or legally required period.
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is also explained in that policy and through the website’s cookie-preference tool.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the website at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misuse, fraud, security threats or violation of these Terms.
Termination does not affect rights and obligations that arose before termination, including obligations relating to accepted orders, payments, refunds and intellectual property.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our business, products, technology or legal obligations.
Updated Terms will apply from the date they are published. Changes will not retrospectively alter an order already accepted unless:
-
The change is required by law;
-
The change benefits you;
-
You expressly agree to it.
The version in force when an order is accepted will normally govern that order.
Severability
If a court or competent authority finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Any invalid provision will be interpreted or adjusted only to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful and enforceable.
No waiver
If we delay enforcing a right, that does not mean we have waived it.
A waiver relating to one matter does not automatically apply to another matter.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the laws of the country where you normally live.
Consumers may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law, including their local courts where the law permits. These Terms do not require consumers to use mandatory arbitration or prevent them from seeking legal remedies.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can attempt to resolve the matter directly.
